WisDOT SharePoint Service - Overview

SharePoint provides a single, integrated location where employees can efficiently collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and find organizational resources and information.

A SharePoint site is a group of related webpages where your team can work on projects, store data and documents, and share information. For example, your team might have its own site where it stores schedules, files and procedural information.

SharePoint Service Definition

BITS is offering SharePoint as a service to DOT staff and its business partners. SharePoint will provide DOT staff the ability to access and collaborate as teams on documents and projects, and share information with other DOT departments as well as their business partners without the concern of where staff or partners are located.

SharePoint Site Usage Policies

SharePoint should be used to maximize collaboration on team sites, documents, and projects for local and remote participants. SharePoint is intended to replace the storage of documents kept on various network drives and desktops by DOT staff, and provide a central content access and storage platform for cross-division projects and initiatives as well as team sites.
