  • Legend - Add 72W" to note referring to abutment width.  Change to accommodate new 72W" girder.

13.1 - Multi-Columned Piers (insert sheets - none)

  • Plan View - Add Standard 19.20 to keyway note.  Change to accommodate new 72W" girder.

13.2 - Hammerhead Pier (insert sheets - none)

  • Plan View - Add Standard 19.20 to note referring to keyway.  Change to accommodate new 72W" girder.

13.3 - Pile Encased Pier (insert sheets - none)

  • Cap Type Detail - Add standard 19.20 to prestressed girder superstructure note.  Change to accommodate new 72W" girder.

  • Designer Notes, Second Paragraph - Change: "Provide designs for both 0.5" dia. and 0.6" dia. strands.  A design utilizing ....." To: "Use only 0.5" dia. strand for the draped pattern.  Use 0.6" dia. strand for the straight pattern."

Change to match Bridge Manual, Chapter 19.


19.2 - 36" Pretensioned Girder Details (insert sheets - g36 - not affected)

  • Designer Notes, Second Paragraph - Change: "Provide designs for both 0.5" dia. and 0.6" dia. strands.  A design utilizing ....." To: "Use only 0.5" dia. strand for the draped pattern.  Use 0.6" dia. strand for the straight pattern."

  • Diaphragm At ½" Elastomeric Bearing - Bottom mat of transverse steel should continue across diaphragm for all cases.  Remove note: "Omit bottom transverse steel....".  Change for consistency in design.

19.14 - Bearing Pad Details For Prestressed Concrete Girders (insert sheets - g72wdet)

  • Both Tables - Add column for 72W" girder.
  • Form-Out Note - Add 72W"
  • Note for dimension from backface of abutment to center line of gearing - Add 72W"

Changes to accommodate new 72W" girder.


19.16 - Intermediate Steel Diaphragms For 70" Prestressed Girders (insert sheets - gstdia70)

  • Title - Add 72W" to title.
  • Part Transverse Section At Diaphragm - Add dimension to exterior girder for 72W" girder.
  • Diaphragm Support - Add dimension to Beam Face view for 72W" girder.

  • Add plates sizes for 72W" girder.  Change to accommodate new 72W" girder.

28.3 - Modular Expansion Joint Details (insert sheet -  jtmoddetails)

  • Add 72W" as applicable to notes.  Change to accommodate new 72W" girder.

30.4 - Tubular Railing Type 'H' (Alum.) (insert sheet - railalm)

  • Detail of Rail Bend At Abutments, Plan - Add note: "Drill ¼" dia. Drain holes in rails @ end plate."  Add drain holes to rail to allow condensation to escape.

30.5 - Tubular Railing Type 'H' (Steel) (insert sheet -  railhstl)

  • General Notes - Add material notes.  Clarify material specs.
  • Detail Of Rail Bend At Abutments, Plan - Add - "with 2" dia. vent holes" to end plate.  Add vent holes for galvanizing process.

30.7 - Vertical Face Parapet 'A' (insert sheets - ppta, mppta)

  • At Sidewalk Section C - remove sidewalk width dimensions and replace with 6'-0" Min.  A 6-foot sidewalk is necessary to satisfy ADA requirements and most pedestrian activity.

30.10 - Parapet Footing (insert sheets - lfdec, mlfdec)

  • Section B - Change   bar  to  .  

Change to match standards 30.12 and 30.13.


30.11 - Chain Link Fence Details (insert sheets - railchan)

  • Plan Of Railing - Add note for alternate boulevard 2-way clamp.  Boulevard clamp will again be allowed with the conditions stated in the note.
  • Section Thru Fence - Change sidewalk width to 6'-0" to match standard 30.7.

30.12 - Slopped Face Parapet 'LF' (insert sheets - lfwin, mlfwin)

  • R502 bar - change shape from:  to .
  • S502 bar - change shape from:  to .
  • R503 bar - change bend radius from 2 ½" to 2"
  • S503 bar - change bend radius from 3" to 2"
  • Plan View - Show bar steel.

Changes to insure that all vertical steel fits with the proper clearance and that R502 or S502 bars are placed along the taper of the parapet and not along the inside face of the footing.


30.13 - Slopped Face Parapet 'HF' (insert sheets - hfwin, mhfwin)

  • R502 bar - change shape from:  to .
  • S502 bar - change shape from:  to .
  • R503 bar - change bend radius from 2 ½" to 2"
  • S503 bar - change bend radius from 3" to 2"
  • Plan View - Show bar steel.

Changes to insure that all vertical steel fits with the proper clearance and that R502 or S502 bars are placed along the taper of the parapet and not along the inside face of the footing.

  • Plan View - Change lap length in Optional Construction Joint note from 3'-7" to 3'-5".  

Change to match Bridge Manual Table 9.2, Tension Lap Splice Length.


30.16 - Tubular Steel Railing Type "M" (insert sheet - railm)

  • General Notes, Item number 9 - Remove from note "except anchorage detail (No. 4)".  Anchor plate should be galvanized


30.20 - Slopped Face Parapet '51F' (insert sheet - 51f)

  • R501 bar - Change bend radius from 2 ½" to 2"
  • S5__ bar - Change bend radius from 3" to 2".

Changes to insure that these two bars fit with the proper clearance.


37.2 - Pedestrian Overpass Details (insert sheets - railchan, mrailcha)

  • Plan Of Railing, Alternate Boulevard note - add conditions for use of the clamp.
