11.1 - Pile Details (insert sheets - none)

  • Remove note referring to pile point material and manufacturer.  Replace with new note to update material and manufacturer part numbers.
  • Remove Pile Point Detail.  Different types of pile points look different

  • 12.1 - Abutment Type A1 (Integral Abutment) (insert sheets - none)

            Plan View:

  • Remove 3'-0" min. rule for beam seat width.
  • Change title of Wing 1 to Wing Without Pile.
  • Change title of Wing 2 to Wing With Pile.
  • Remove reference to sidewalk notch from Wing 2 plan view.
  • Remove 7-#8 from 7#8 (A1 bars) (> to wing length).  Add See Table
  • Change title: SLAB SPAN WITH FIXED SEAT AND WING WITH SLOPED FACE PARAPET to SLAB SPAN WITH FIXED SEAT
  • Change title: GIRDER SPAN WITH SEMI-EXPANSION SEAT AND WING WITH  SDWK to GIRDER SPAN WITH SEMI-EXPANSION SEAT.
  • Update embedment length table for coated bars.
  • Add Or to top of wing for steel railing to filler note.
  • Add detail showing slab span with semi-expansion seat.
  •         Elevation - Type A1 With Fixed Seat

    •  Remove (Use only when wing pile is not required) from tiltle.

            Designer Notes:

    •   Add note: The fixed seat cannot be used when a wing pile is required.

    12.2 - Abutment Type A1 (insert sheets - none)

  • Change all references to WING 1 to WING WITHOUT PILE
  • Change all references to WING 2 to WING WITH PILE
  •         Designer Notes:

    • Remove note: Star symbol If "F" or "W" steel railing is attached to top of wings 1 or 2,  instead of parapets as shown, see detail "A".
    • Add note: All wing bars are epoxy coated.
    • Add note: When Type "F" or "W" railing is used, locate name plate on first right wing traveling up station.

          Wing Height and Length Table:

    • Remove the "2" from WING 2 LENGTH and WING 2 HEIGHT.  Table will now be used for both wings.
    • Add bars to table for Wing Without Pile - 8'-6" height x 10'-0" or 12'-0" length and 10'-0" height x 10'-0" length.
    • Change 10'-0" height x 12'-0" length A1 bars from 5-#5 to 5-#7 and W bars from 5-#7 to 7-#8.
    • Add note below table *Wing without pile.

        Wing Without Pile:

    • Break out detail at top of wing for clarity.
    • Change top two horizontal bars in top pour to #6 bars.
    • Change back face horizontal bars at top pour from #4 bars at 1'-6" to #4 bars at 9".
    • Change back face vertical bars in upper pour from  #4 bars at 1'-6" to See HU Table.
    • Change development length of vertical bars (F.F. & B.F.) in top pour from 1'-1" to 1'-6".
    • Change all front face horizontal bars in lower pour to #5 bars at 1'-0".
    • Change all back face horizontal bars in lower pour to "W" bars.
    • Change 1-#7 horizontal bar at top center of lower pour to 2-"W" bars.

        Wing With Pile:

    • Break out detail at top of wing for clarity.
    • Change top two horizontal bars in top pour to #6 bars.
    • Change development length for vertical bars (F.F. & B.F.) in top pour from 1'-1" to 1'-6".
    • Change 2-#6 horizontal bars at top center of lower pour to 2-"W" bars

    12.3 - Abutment Type A3 (insert sheets - none)

  • Change all references to WING 1 to WING WITHOUT PILE
  • Change all references to WING 2 to WING WITH PILE
  •     Section Thru Body:

    • Change 1'-0" min. dimension for development length of #5 coated bars to 1'-6".  Show dimension from top of bearing seat to bottom of bar.  This will match the criteria in Chapter 9, Table 9.1 of the Bridge Manual - #5, Class A, Others, Coated.   

        Plan View:

    •  Remove 3'-0" min. rule for beam seat width

    12.4 -  Abutment Type A3 (insert sheets - none)

    •  Change all references to WING 1 to WING WITHOUT PILE
  • Change all references to WING 2 to WING WITH PILE
  •  Designer Notes:

    •  Add note: All wing bars are epoxy coated.
    •  Add note: When Type "F" or "W" railing is used, locate name plate on first right wing traveling up station.

        Section W1:

    • Change development length for vertical bars (F.F. & B.F.) in top pour from 1'-1" to 1'-6".

        Section W2:

    • Change development length for vertical bars (F.F. & B.F.) in top pour from 1'-1" to 1'-6".

    12.5 - Abutment A4 Pile Footing (insert sheets - none)

       Section A1:

  • Change 1'-0" min. dimension for development length of #5 coated bars to 1'-6".  Show dimension from top of bearing seat to bottom of bar.  This will match the criteria in Chapter 9, Table 9.1 of the Bridge Manual - #5, Class A, Others, Coated.
  •     Plan View:

  •  Remove 3'-0" min. rule for beam seat width
  •     Pipe Underdrain Detail

    • Change fabric overlap from 1'-0" to 1'-6" to match Standard Spec.

    12.6 - Abutment A4 Pile Footing (insert sheets - none)

        Designer Notes:

    • Add note: All wing bars are epoxy coated.
    • Add note: When Type "F" or "W" railing is used, locate name plate on first right wing traveling up station.

        Section A2:

    • Change development length for vertical bars (F.F. & B.F.) in top pour from 1'-1" to 1'-6".
    • Change dimension from top of wing to dowel bar from 3" to Varies 3" to 6".

    12.7 - Details For Wings Parallel To A1 Abutment Centerline (insert sheets - none)

        Wing Elevation:

    • Add note to Name Plate: "For Type 'F' and 'W' Rail Only."

     19.6 - Pretensioned Girder Details (insert sheets - g28, mg28, g36, mg36, g45, mg45, g54, mg54, g70, mg70 - not affected)

    • Add to Designer Notes: The use of Pilasters shall be optional.

    19.18 - 54W" Pretensioned Girder Details (No metric version of this standard) (insert sheets - g54w, g54wdet - not affected)

    • Remove girder spacing table.  This information is covered in better detail in Chapter 19 of the Bridge Manual, Tables 19.1a & 19.1b.

    19.20 - Pretensioned 54W" Girder Slab & Superstructure Details (insert sheet -g54wdet)

    • New Standard

    24.2 - Plate Girder Details (insert sheets - none)

    • Connection Stiff. Details - Add "SLOPE 1/1½" and "GRIND FLANGE TOES" to weld symbol at bottom flange.
    • Table of Fillet Weld Sizes - Add note to 5/16, 3/8, & ½" welds - "Min. pass size is 5/16".

    30.12 - Sloped Face Parapet 'LF' (insert sheets - lfdec, mlfdec, lfwin, mlfwin)

    • Change the parapet overhang from 1" to ¾".   This will create a 1'-3" footprint of the parapet on the bridge deck and match the 1'-3" wingwall.

     30.13 - Sloped Face Parapet 'HF' (insert sheets - hfdec, mhfdec, hfwin, mhfwin)

    • Change the parapet overhang from 1" to ¾".   This will create a 1'-3" footprint of the parapet on the bridge deck and match the 1'-3" wingwall.

    36.1 - Box Culvert Layout (insert sheets - none)

    • Plan View - Remove Round off to nearest  2"  from all four wings.   Add "Square box symbol" to Vertical Constr. Joint notes.
    • Section C1 - Remove all references to Structure Backfill.  Add "Square box symbol" to Vertical Constr. Joint notes.   Remove "Symbol for Structural Backfill".
    • Add note: Square box symbol 18" min. width rubberized membrane waterproofing up walls & across top slab.
    • Design Data - Specify Grade A-FA for Concrete Masonry.
    • Remove entire note referring to depth of fill material.

    36.2 - Box Culvert Apron Details (insert sheets - none)

    • Apron Detail - Remove all references for reducing apron thickness.
    • Corner A/Corner B - Remove note: Do not run any bar steel reinforcement thru joint filler.
    • Vertical Construction Joint (for less than 2'-0" of cover) - Add "Symbol for Vertical Construction Joint" to note referring to bottom slab thickness.
    • Vertical Construction Joint (for 2'-0" or more of cover) - Change  note from: 5/8" smooth round dowel bar at 1'-0" centers in all four sides.  The free end of dowel bars shall receive a thin uniform coating of bond breaker. to: #5 bar at 1'-0" centers in all four sides.  The free end of bars shall be debonded.
    • Add "Symbol for Vertical Construction Joint" to note referring to bottom slab thickness.
    • Add note for bottom slab thickness:  Symbol for Vertical Construction Joint  In lieu of construction joints in the bottom slab, the contractor may use 2" deep saw cuts within 12 hours after pouring.
    • Section Thru Wingwalls - Show rubberized membrane waterproofing at construction joint.  Add note: o 18" min. width rubberized membrane waterproofing.  Remove references to reduced apron thickness.
    • Notes:  Remove note: Note on plans: Geotextile fabric type "C" is to be placed under box culvert & aprons.

    36.3 - Box Culvert Details (insert sheets - none)

    • Section Thru Box - Change note from: For "height of box" > 5'-0", place  7/8" dia.  smooth round bar, 2'-6" long, between barrel and wings.  Embed 1'-3" into barrel wall.  Use debonder on extension into wing wall.  Bend as required.  One bar for each wingwall.  Include in bid item "culvert concrete masonry". To: For "height of box" > 6'-0", place  1" dia. plain (smooth) round dowel bar, 2'-6" long, between barrel and wings.  Embed 1'-3" into barrel wall.  Use debonder on extension into wing wall.  Bend as required.  One bar for each wingwall.  ASTM A36 material may be substituted for AASHTO M31.

    40.3 - Overlay Details (insert sheets - none)

    •  Change the parapet overhang from 1" to ¾".

    40.6 - Abutment Widening (insert sheets - none)

        Plan View:

    • Change Wing With Sidewalk to Wing With Pile.
    • Change Wing With Sloped Face Parapet to Wing Without Pile.
