11.1 - Pile Details (insert sheets - none)
- Show CIP and HP welding details.
- Change all reference to 12" dia. cast
in place piling to 12 3/4". A minimal 12 inch diameter CIP
pipe pile actually has an inside diameter of 12 inches and an outside
diameter of 12.75".
- Add table for available standard wall
thickness for all pile sizes.
- Add to notes: "Grinding may be used in
lieu of backgouging."
12.1 - Abutment
Type A1 (insert sheets - none)
- Girder Span with Semi Expansion Seat - Change
3/4" cork note to read: 3/4" Cork filler on vertical beam
seat faces that run parallel with girder." Cork should not be
applied to back face of beam seats.
12.2 - Abutment Type A1 (insert sheets - none)
- Add note to top of wing "Finish
Horizontal Surfaces Not Covered By Parapet". The area not
covered by the parapet needs to be finished, placed at the proper
elevation, and with appropriate slopes because it is not covered by
the parapet transition.

- Plan View - Add "or laminated
elastomeric bearing" to
"bearing pad" call out.

permitted for safety reasons. Studs should be field welded only.

- Change minimum dimension from top of
bottom flange to bottom of bottom diaphragm member from 8" to 4".
Eight-inch minimum was required to provide room for lower lateral
system below diaphragms. Since lower laterals are rarely used,
it was decided to decrease the minimum to 4".

Diaphragms (insert sheets - none)
- Change minimum dimension from top of
bottom flange to bottom of bottom diaphragm member from 8" to 4".
