pour instead of 1'-6" from the back face of the abut. wing lower
pour. Vertical wing loads and soil weight on lower abutment wing
pour will then induce a moment opposite that of the overturning moment
created from the horizontal earth force on the abutment wings, instead
of additive to the horiz. earth force overturning moment.

Concrete Traffic Barrier Expansion Joint Detail
- Change expansion joint spacing to 20' minimum, 30' maximum.
The expansion length is increased from 25' to 30' to
accommodate the wider wall panels. A minimum length is given to insure resistance to vehicle
impacts is distributed over an adequate distance.
