  • Designer Notes - Add "See std. 12.9 for Alternate Construction Joint."

12.2 - Abutment Type A1 (insert sheets - none)

  • Wing With Pile Section - Change wing pile dimension from 1'-9" to 1'-3".

12.3 - Abutment Type A3 (insert sheets - none)

  • Locate the wing pile 1'-3" from the front face of the abut. wing lower pour instead of 1'-6" from the back face of the abut. wing lower pour.  Vertical wing loads and soil weight on lower abutment wing pour will then induce a moment opposite that of the overturning moment created from the horizontal earth force on the abutment wings, instead of additive to the horiz. earth force overturning moment.
  • Designer Notes - Add "See std. 12.9 for Alternate Construction Joint."

12.4 - Abutment Type A3 (insert sheets - none)
